The 9th Annual Independent Schools Experiential Education Network (ISEEN) was held January 15-18, 2014 at Appleby College in Oakville, Ontario, Canada (just outside of Toronto). This was our first "international" ISEEN Institute. The theme for the Institute was Leadership. Areas of Discussion/Focus included: - "Taking Leadership of Student Leadership Through Experiential Education Programming" (Ted Fish, Executive Director of the Gardner Carney Leadership Institute)

- "Change Leadership- Understanding the theory and tools of successful change to benefit your program andschool" (Barry Wright, Brock University School of Business, Professor of Change)

- "Taking Leadership of Your Career" (Dan Garvey, President Emeritus, Prescott College)

- "Leading the Sustainable Way-Integrating a Sustainability Mindset into your Experiential Education Program and School" A Roundtable Discussion

- An orientation for all 1st Timers at ISEEN "Talking Your Walk: Understanding the theory of experiential education pedagogy and how to connect it in conversation with various stakeholders" (ISEEN Board of Directors)

- Administrators’ and students' perspective on the Appleby College experiential education curricula

- Roundtable Networking Event

- Extended time in specialized groups (outdoor/adventure education, global education, and service learning) to focus on individual school problems/solutions and leadership topics relevant to each specialization.

- Extended time for informal networking through longer break periods, dynamic activities (including a very Canadian Broomball, Poutine, and Beavertales event, and group dinners.
