Travel Logistics 

The following are important details to know when booking travel to Alexandria, VA. 

Wednesday, June 15 - Check-In Details: Check in at Episcopal High School will be from 1:00-3:00 pm. Please ensure your travel plans allow you to be at the school by 3:00 pm so you can pick up your name tag, room assignment and check in before we commence the Institute at 4:00pm.

Sunday, June 19 - Check-out Details: The program will be over by the morning of Sunday, June 19. You are welcome to leave anytime before noon that day.

Please know that we value your participation at the ISEEN Institute, but it is critical for you to arrive on time and leave on time. Arriving late or leaving early not only diminishes the quality of your experience, but also the shared experience of your peers. If you know that you cannot manage the full schedule, please consider joining us at a future institute.


LODGING/MEALS

The registration fee includes room and board. Participants will be housed in dormitories on the campus of Episcopal High School in Alexandria, VA. All rooms will be single rooms and provide access to shared single gender (men's and women's) bathrooms. In addition to the shared bathrooms, two lockable private bathrooms are available in one of the dormitories. 


Getting to Episcopal High School (Alexandria, VA) 

Flying
There are three main airports that cater to the Washington D.C. metro area:

  1. Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (Airport Code: DCA). This is the most convenient airport when traveling to Episcopal High School.  It is about a 15 minute drive and is accessible by public transport (about 30-45 mins. with bus transfer).

  2. Washington Dulles International Airport (Airport Code: IAD ). Getting from Dulles to Episcopal High School is between 30-45 minutes by taxi.  There is a shuttle from Dulles to the closest Metro stop, allowing for travel by public transportation (over an hour with connections).

  3. Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (airport code: BWI) this airport is about 40 miles from Episcopal High School and is serviced by various forms of ground transportation (Uber, Lyft, etc.) including Amtrak train connecting to Washington DC Union Station with access to public transportation (close to two hours by public transportation).

Other Modes of Transportation 

  1. Train - Amtrak has train service to Washington DC’s Union Station with taxi, rideshare (i.e. Uber, Lyft) and public transportation connection to Episcopal High School (subway and bus). There is also direct train service available to Alexandria, VA on a less frequent basis. 

  2. Metro/Public Transit - Braddock Road Metro (Blue & Yellow Lines) and King Street-Old Town Metro (Blue & Yellow Lines) are about one mile from campus. Bus #104 (Alexandria DASH) will drop you off in front of campus.

  3. Automobiles-If you will be driving, directions to Episcopal High School can be found on the school's website
